Meet Catherine

County Legislator Catherine Parker is known for her caring, hard work, and leadership in the Sound Shore community. As a community leader, as a businesswoman, and as a community volunteer, Catherine has lived the challenges that face us: flooding, the cost of living, and concerns about the future of our neighborhoods. Her record of bringing funding and innovative solutions to our community speaks for itself. Sound Shore voters first elected her to the Rye City Council in 2007, where she served for six years, and since 2013, she has represented us as a Democrat in the Westchester County Legislature.

Catherine has come through for us time and time again.

A history of hard work and accomplishment

Holding the line on taxes

The cost of living in New York is a crisis. Catherine has fought for affordability in Westchester, and during her time in the County Legislature, County taxes were cut to their lowest level since 2008.

FLOODING

Catherine’s experiences with flooding are personal. Listening to other Westchester residents  who suffered from stormwater,  she has succeeded in implementing policies and funding on the County level to mitigate flooding.

CLIMATE CHANGE

Catherine’s credentials as an environmental champion are indisputable. She sponsored the creation of the County Office of
Energy and Sustainability, helped pass laws to reduce disposable waste, was instrumental in enabling our current low-pollution fleet of municipal vehicles, and more.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

As a small business owner and having led the pandemic reopening task force for the County, she has supported programs that have led to extremely low unemployment and the creation of good paying jobs in the County.
